“It has been a year since Maine’s largest accidental spill of its kindoccurred. It was the sixth largest in the U.S. in the past 30 years, and while a lot has changed, concerns among locals continue to linger.
On Aug. 19, 2024, a malfunction at Hangar 4 at the Brunswick Executive Airport caused 50,000 gallons of toxic firefighting foam to discharge.
The foam, known for its harmful ‘forever chemicals,’ prompted a cleanup and new laws to help prevent similar incidents.” …
