“Perdue AgriBusiness has announced significant progress in its well-water testing and PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) mitigation efforts following the initial detection of the toxic ‘forever chemicals’ in late 2024.

These efforts, conducted in coordination with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), reflect the company’s ‘continued commitment to transparency, environmental stewardship and public health,’ Perdue said in a June 20, 2025, news release.

For properties within the testing area established by MDE, testing is now complete and PFAS treatment systems have been installed at nearly all impacted properties, the release stated.”
