“An advisory has been issued by Mayor Albert Kurpis to borough residents to have their private water wells tested for contaminants.

The warning follows a report by Councilman Duncan Carpenter, who said the water from his well tested positive for PFOS, or perfluorooctanesulfonic acid.

Carpenter is applying to the state’s Spill Compensation Fund for reimbursement for confirmatory testing, installation of a filtration system and maintenance, Kurpis said.” …
