“MPs on the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) will hear from experts in the fields of science, environmental sustainability, health and business on the impacts of Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).
They will use their findings to recommend changes to regulation and legislation which Ministers could enact to meaningfully address PFAS-related risks.
The PFAS family of chemicals consists of at least 5,000 individual substances, the majority of which are extremely persistent in the environment and resistant to biodegradation. This is why they are known as ‘forever chemicals.” …
