“The Department of Natural Resources is offering bottled water to additional homes in the Town of Peshtigo, after testing data showed that the private wells at the homes are above the recommended health advisory levels for ‘forever chemicals.’

About 50 additional homes were notified that the levels of PFAS in their private wells exceeded the new recommendations, joining the 32 private wells that had elevated levels found in 2020 and 2021 testing, the department said.

The Department of Health Services’ new recommendation follows the Environmental Protection Agency’s limits of 4 parts per trillion for PFOA and PFOS, two of the most common PFAS compounds. Previously, the health standards were set at 20 ppt.” …
