“U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin will talk PFAS legislation and water quality at an upcoming forum in Oakland County.

On Thursday, Slotkin will begin her ‘Wells and Waterways Tour’ in Davisburg with a town hall to highlight PFAS and other water contaminants’ effects on 8th District communities. 

Recently, President Trump signed Slotkin’s PFAS Monitoring Act into law, which will expand and require PFAS testing in public water systems. She plans to discuss this bill during the event. 

Slotkin also plans to outline the Test Your Well Water Act, which would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create an online tool on it’s website for Americans with private wells to find resources to test their drinking water and understand what those results mean.

The Oakland County town hall will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Springfield Oaks County Park, 12451 Andersonville Rd. Slotkin will be joined by Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash and Mark Hansell, the county’s chief of environmental health special programs…”
