“A scientist from one of the nation’s largest water testing labs says the EPA may be underestimating the presence of toxic perfluorinated compounds in drinking water systems across the country.
A report by Eurofins Eaton Analytical laboratories asserts that EPA data show only about 4 percent of the nation’s drinking water supplies contain highly fluorinated chemicals. But Eurofins’ review of its own testing data suggests that number is much higher, with about 28 percent of water supplies containing the chemicals at some level.
