Suspected source: Firefighting foam used and stored at Roosevelt Refinery
The DEQ asked MRP Properties to sample the groundwater at Mt. Pleasant in August 2017 because the site was a former refinery. The DEQ became aware of PFAS concentrations at Roosevelt Refinery in October 2017. The DEQ has requested that MRP Properties further investigate the extent of the plume. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe has been briefed by the DEQ.
