Your cookware could be banned in January

“Colorado hopes to take ‘forever chemicals’ off the menu by banning certain nonstick cookware and other household items, effective at the start of 2026.

The new rule targets products containing ‘intentionally added’ per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), as scientists increasingly raise concerns about the chemicals’ abundance and long-term health impacts.

‘The biggest concern is that the more we test for PFAS, the more we find them,’ said Julia Varshavsky, assistant professor at Northeastern University’s Public Health and Health Sciences Department and Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.” …
