“Tens of thousands of additional private drinking water wells are now eligible for PFAS contamination testing around Chemours’ Fayetteville Works plant.

The company, at the direction of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, is expanding well sampling eligibility for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances to portions of Harnett and Hoke counties, according to an agency release.

The state Division of Waste Management will provide more information about expanded well testing and answer questions during a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. April. 1.”
