“RAYMOND (WGME) — It’s been a tough couple of years for schools as they try to get ‘forever chemicals’ out of their drinking water.

PFAS have been linked to certain health problems and have become a growing concern across Maine.

For some, it’s led to costly solutions after receiving surprising results.

‘We’ve actually been on bottled drinking water since January of 2023 here in this building,’ Windham Raymond Schools Superintendent Chris Howell said.

Drinking water taps were turned off after testing found PFAS in the school’s water.”…
