MA Senate passes ban on PFAS in firefighter turnout gear. Will House act?

“The state Senate Monday passed legislation long pushed by firefighters that would ban PFAS in turnout gear by 2027. 

The Senate passed the legislation around 11:30 a.m. and it will now be sent to the House. 

‘I’m standing in front of the House now, waiting for them to come in,’ Rich MacKinnon, president of the largest state firefighters union, the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, told the T&G around noon. 

MacKinnon said his union would be working the next two days to get the bill over the finish line by the end of the formal session Wednesday.”…
