First PFAS Tests at Battle Creek Executive Airport Shows Higher Levels Than State Standard

“The first phase of PFAS tests at the Battle Creek Executive Airport showed PFAS in a majority of soil and groundwater samples, according to a report shared Monday.

In some of the samples, PFAS levels were found to be higher than the Michigan cleanup standard.

Airport officials proposed a second phase of tests, which would focus on the groundwater in areas where these samples were collected.

The first phase focused on areas where firefighting foam might have been, or was, used.

These included:

2015 aircraft accident site, in the northeast part of the airfield
