Coakley Landfill Group says it spent $27M on remediation

“PORTSMOUTH — The Coakley Landfill Group has spent approximately $27 million on the remediation of the Superfund cleanup site in North Hampton and Greenland, City Attorney Robert Sullivan said this week.

‘Of the $27 million spent so far, Portsmouth taxpayers have probably paid about $13 million of that,’ Sullivan said.

The CLG is made up of groups that used the landfill in North Hampton and Greenland, along with companies that transported trash there. Sullivan serves on the group’s executive committee.”
